5 stars for a public golf course! Pretty and still popular even in a drought.
Update: it would be really nice if there were a PUBLIC POOL at this PUBLIC golf course... if ONLY the city didn't fill in the pool that was a community hangout spot at this location, with concrete!!! I recently learned that local governments fill in public swimming pools because people in these elected offices would rather take away the public swimming pool than see certain humans swimming with other certain humans! š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤ Interesting!
Update Update: I heard they have started constructing putting greens where the pool was. At least they're using the space for more golf!
I've played Forest Creek several times in the past few months and have really been enjoying myself. The course is on the challenging side - keep that in mind if you prefer an easier day - but nothing too crazy.
It has a lot of great qualities:
a. Staff is top notch. From the pro shop to the cart girls, everyone is friendly and helpful.
b. It's a bit pricier than other courses in its range, but you get a free sausage wrap, beer, small bucket of range balls, and entry into a sweepstakes for a free club each month. Also, 1 tee time per day wins free hats from the pro shop. All this really brings its value up.
c. A few of the greens have some dead spots, but overall, great condition (there are def worse greens in Austin).
I'll def continue to add it to my rotation.
Forest Creek was a great experience, the course overall is in great condition from the tee boxes to the greens. Friendly staff, nice beverage ladies that came through plenty of times but never interfered with the pace.
8:40 tee time with four players finished at 12:30. Fee included a bucket of balls lunch and a beer.
Course was in great condition. Pace of play was great on a weekday. Marshal and management were really nice and welcoming. Can't beat the deal with all the extras that come with them AM tee time.

I have never before left any bad reviews to any companies or places, even when they would do a bad job. But THIS ONE IS THE MOST HORRIBLE PLACE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN 32 years of my life! Staff is EXTREMELY RUDE, DISORGANIZED AND TERRIBLE AT COMMUNICATING!!!
If there would be an option to rate minus 5 stars, Iād rate them that!!!

I had the cleanest balls on each hole. One of the few golf courses that still takes pride in their ball washers! Hot dogs are on point too!
Great course for the price with free lunch on normal tee-times. Pretty good condition considering the heat lately. City run course puts some privately owned ones to shame. Crazy backup on hole 18 as too difficult for most.
Great golf course! You have to think your way around it. Greens in excellent shape rolled true. Fun. Customer service is 5 star! It was really cool to be given a hot dog and fountain drink tickets just for playing, ( the hot dog was huge by the way.) No other course does this. Had a great time.
